Gold Coast Tennis Academy welcomes the return of Thursday night Social Tennis at Sanctuary Cove.

The Sanctuary Cove Rec Club on Gleneagles Drive, Hope Island will again host Thursday night Social Tennis commencing 21st April 2022.

The Thursday night social play is suited for all players who could be classified as an intermediate to advanced level player.

What is an intermediate level tennis player?

If you can serve the ball over and in about 80% of the time, and can sustain a short rally, they you would be classified as intermediate level. To be classed as an advanced level player, you would be consistent and reliable in a rally, have a serve that either has power or good placement, and can play with some level of strategy in your points.

If you dont feel that you would be classed as an intermediate level player, then we would suggest trying some private tennis lessons with one of our coaches, and then progress to the social tennis night.

How Does The Night Work?

The night is designed to be a fun and social atmosphere, allowing you to engage in chit chat, get some exercise, and meet new people particularly from the Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island communities, although the invitation extends to anyone living in or visiting the Gold Coast.

Our organisers will schedule your games, and place you in groups at a similar level to your own ability, so you wont feel out of place at all, and you dont need to know anyone else to begin playing.

Play is conducted on our cushioned 4 x synthetic grass courts, so there is no need to worry about tennis being hard on your joints or body. This surface is the preferred surface of Tennis Seniors Australia.

Social Tennis starts at 6:30pm (although there is no requirement to arrive right on time), and runs through till around 9pm. The cost of the night is $15, and includes a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink at the end of the evening.
